FAQ’s

Thank you for inquiring about Fuller Modular Homes, LLC. We have prepared this list of questions and answers so that you will better understand the modular process. Once you have reviewed this information, please contact us to discuss whether modular construction is right for you.

Is modular construction better than site built construction?

YES. Fuller Modular Homes’ modular homes are stronger and better built than site-built homes. Imagine building a car “piece by piece” outdoors. Ridiculous! Yes. Then why trust your single largest investment (your home) to be built outdoors – subject to wood boring insects, wood rot, rain, sleet, and snow?

Why are our modular homes better construction than site built homes?

Fuller Modular Homes’ modular homes offer better quality for less money. The structural integrity of our modular homes is a testament of their superior quality. Some of the factors that contribute to the superior quality of our modular homes are as follows:
Materials: Only the best quality building materials are used to construct our modular homes. Our modular home manufacturers order huge volumes of materials directly from the factories and mills. Many products are made specifically for our modular home manufacturers.
Climate Control: Building a modular home in a manufacturing facility eliminates major problems typically associated with site-built homes. Fuller Modular Homes’ modular home manufacturers are able to avoid weather related defects including moisture saturation of the lumber, drywall, and insulation. Inside our climate-controlled factories, there is no warping of walls, swelling of doors, or freezing of pipes and plumbing fixtures. Our customers are not inconvenienced by weather delays, and move-in dates are not unnecessarily extended.
State of the Art Equipment: By design, our modular factories use sophisticated, high-tech equipment. This equipment results in modular homes that are precisely built exactly as designed. Every aspect of our modular home is level, square, and plumb!
Better Built: Our modular homes are built to withstand the rigors of shipping. Walls, floors, and ceilings are not only nailed like site-built homes; they are nailed, bracketed, glued, and corner bolted.
30% More Material: Our modular homes are built with up to 30% more construction material as compared to a site-built home, with at least 10% less waste.
Energy Efficient: Superior engineering and quality products greatly increase the energy efficiency of our modular homes.

Will a Modular Home be less expensive than a site built home?  Why?

The cost of a modular home built by Fuller Modular Homes is generally less expensive than a site-built home because of the efficiencies associated with assembly line mass production. The modular home manufacturing process also greatly reduces the overall construction time. Unlike site-built construction, there is no lost or damaged material caused by on-site weather conditions, pilferage, and vandalism.

How long will it take Fuller Modular Homes to build my new modular home?

The amount of time to build a modular home will vary depending on the size and type of the modular home built. Generally, the modular home manufacturing process begins within 8 to 12 weeks after the modular home is ordered. The typical modular home is built within 7 to 10 days. Once the modular home is completed at one of our modular home factories, it is shipped to the building site within 1 week. The modular home is then set onto our customer’s foundation and is finished in approximately 5 to 12 weeks. The entire modular home construction process takes approximately 4 to 6 months. In comparison, a site-built home may leave an anxious homebuyer waiting 12 to 18 months for an inferior product.

What types of customization does Fuller Modular Homes offer?

Our modular home manufacturers can customize a modular home’s interior as well as the exterior according to the customer’s needs or desires.  The following examples are just a few of the many options that customers routinely add to our modular homes:

How are modular, manufactured, mobile and paneilized homes different?

A modular home is a system built home that is built in a factory to the same standard (building code) as a site-built home. The modular home is then transported to the building site and permanently attached to a foundation.

A modular home will offer the best quality construction for the best price. A manufactured home or a mobile home is built in a factory in accordance with a federal or HUD code. These homes are typically parked or installed in a trailer park or similar location.

A panelized home is shipped to the site in structural building panels. The panels are then assembled on-site. The house is then finished in a similar manner as a site-built home.
